Giraffes eating a Christmas Tree

Left over Christmas trees are enjoyed by many of the animals in the zoo including these giraffes.

The giraffes are one of the few animals able to eat the cactus. Cactus that are confiscated at the border are donated to the zoo and planted within reach of the giraffes.

Giraffes sometimes stare off into the distance. It is hard to figure out exactly what they are looking at. When this happens, it is also hard for the zookeepers to get the giraffe's attention.

The newest female Giraffe, Elinor, was named after one of the zookeepers.
