The Chilean Flamingo is born grey. When they mature, their base color is white, but they eat krill or other small crustaceans. The color of the ingested food turns their feathers pink.
In with the flamingos you can see plenty of ducks. The zoo only has 10 ducks, the others pop in for free food.
In addition to the ducks, White Egrets and Black Crown Night Herons come to the zoo to steal food. They are beautiful birds, but considered pests.
